Today was an exciting day in the Snyder house.
Liam, age 3 years and 6 mos. wrote his first and last name for the librarian today. Then she gave him his very own library card and told me I would not be privy to what he checks out, unless he gave me permission of course.
"Yes, little lady, I do let my kids run wild at the library, but I will be with them at the check-out. Scouts honor."
Then, the other librarian in our life (Annelisa) made Liam his very own wallet with tool fabric and Liam put his new card inside his new wallet. Thank you Aunt Annelisa!
This afternoon Isla went potty in the real toilet with the aid of a cushy Dora seat. She chose two suckers, orange and purple, for her treat. I was lenient with the "one only" rule because I was pretty entrenched in my vision of a no diaper household.
Even though a new baby will come in the future, with diapers of his/her own.

And no, this is not an announcement post. The future includes all of the infinite years in front of us ;)
Working hard on his name. He had to write small for the first time, and the loud library (notice oxymoron) was making him nervous. The letter "s" proves to be most difficult for him, so he turned to me and asked "Mom? How can I get my liBERRY card without the S?" So sweet. I told him we were in no rush and he could take us long as he needed.

wowee! How did you teach him that already? Dottie definitely does not have the patience to learn her name yet. Congrats, Little Liam.
All I can say is WOW - to the name writing and the potty going...
You rock!
That is so cute! Liam is so big to be able to write his own name! Congrats on Isla's accomplishment too!
I love that he can write his name- it's looks so grown up on his card to his cousin-in-the-tummy. :) And that first picture cracks me up- what a goofy face. And his "dancing" on his bed forehead boo boo. :)
