With the help of a neighborhood garage sale and the dollar store, Liam and I put together a mini-school for him and Isla in a corner of his room. Some things about parenting have really surprised me (duh, of course. silly me.), and one of them has been how much fun I have teaching my children. It isn't a perfect fit though, because Liam can feign disinterest if I act too knowledgeable or pushy. Not that I can fault him for it, I remember feeling the same way when my mom would excitedly try to teach me something. Even if I did care, heaven forbid I see that giddy parental/teacher amalgam smile on her for a second longer. So, I am trying my best to let him lead me, not the other way around. Let's hope he is the first person to figure that one out!

Becca! Dottie's going back to school, too. We're starting a mother's cooperative pre-school on Tuesday. You should start one too! Seriously, it's exciting. We're doing Joy School. The website is: valuesparenting.com. I think it's going to be really good for Dot.
