Saturday Field Trip

I'd like to say we took the trip to OMSI to encourage Liam's intellectual growth or to spend quality time with the Shambaughs, but really, it was for Billy. After 15 minutes max in the 2nd floor toddler play area, Billy suggested he and Jeff "scope out the place." I gave Stephanie a knowing look and said "Sure, Steph and I can handle two toddlers, one newborn, and my massive waddle in this festering pool of babies, no problem."

Truthfully, it was endearing to watch not only Liam's, but Billy's imagination explode while surrounded by static machines, chlorine bubbles, robots, and the Turbine room. At the end of a long day, and almost one and a half hours at the paper helicopter station, I managed to pry Billy away and say "Let's go home, please." He conceded. As we walked away he couldn't help but mention how he blew all the kids away with his inventive paper flying and how none of them could compete. It was funny. "You know hun, you do have an engineering degree and they are only 10 years old" I had to say, but he only pointed excitedly to the station and replied "See! That kid is using one of my helicopters right now!"

It is good to be a kid again!

Once I got over the sad fact that these are bona fide fetuses who died during medical accidents, this became my favorite exhibit. I am standing next to a 30 week old boy fetus. I just happen to be pregnant with a 30 week old girl fetus. Close enough!

No wonder her kicks can pack a punch! This baby looks huge! Oh, and just so you guys know, I could have a legal partial-birth abortion today. It just so happens the state I live in has no sanctions or bans on this third trimester form of abortion, and yeah, no moral backbone. Also, my baby can now survive outside of the womb with a pretty dang good prognosis. Just F.Y.I.
