Overheard in Our House

Liam: "Isla, this is a girl decoration for my camera. But it does not mean I am a girl. I am a boy. OKAY?"

Isla: "Gurrl. Gurrl. Gurrl."

Liam: "ISLA. I AM NOT A GIRL. I am a BOY."

Isla: "Gurrl. Gurrl. Gurrl."

Liam runs into the bathroom, where I was, listening to their conversation while I brushed my teeth.

Liam: Mom. Isla keeps saying I'm a girl.

Me: Oh no she's not, Liam. She just likes to repeat what you say.

Isla runs in to join us. She points a chubby finger right at Liam and shouts, as clear as anything

"Liam dis a Gurrl! Liam dis a Gurrl!"

Another quick one:

I recently taught Isla to say "I am a Mommy's girl." It is really cute, because she says it like this "Eyeyah Mommy Gurrl". Well...the other day when I asked her to say it she gave me a look of defiance and said "Eyeyah Dead-Ee-Kah Gurrl!" And then she laughed. She was telling me she was Jessica's girl, not mine.

Oh, you are so lucky to have J-White be your child's best friend. I am so jealous you have one of my three favorite ex-roommates over at your house on a weekly basis to spoil your children.
