Liam is almost 4. It is hard to put his progress and development into words, because he has become such an independent little man, with real complexities and intricate personality traits, everything I think to say sounds trite.
Because if I say he just so funny and smart and tender, you'll think I'm just being a mom. And then if I try to give you real life examples of how funny and smart and tender he is, I'll just forget the "good" ones and only remember the "so-so" ones.
So how do I say it? I think I am to tired to try (it is 11 pm ...) but I will figure it out in time for his birthday post.

My favorite Liam comments from the past weekend visit: About helping to put the train set together:
"Grandpa, I'm a very careful man!"
Upon Billy's questions about entitlement: "Dad, I really, really love Grandma!"
About making friends and the park, Gilbert House, etc.
"I listen to their voice and if it's good, I just fall in love with them."
