I am not exaggerating when I say Billy and Isla share a Popsicle every night. While I put Liam to bed, Billy and Isla hang out with a popsicle and all is happy in the world. We've conditioned her to wiggle and grunt whenever the freezer door is opened, so Pavlov has proven very right in our home.
In other news...
Our house is a messy, chaotic free fall of family organization, and a proof to all that yes, you can both survive on Tostino's pizza and use the boxes for a child's playthings. Yesterday I said "Hey Billy, will hand me the phone by the potatoes on the couch?" and he turned to me and said "Okay, I know we've got a problem when I hear you say something like that." Yes, somehow a bag of potatoes were on the couch, with the house phone (and empty Caprisuns, dirty church clothes, and the vibration of a missing cell phone). Project Kitchen has sequestered all family energy and left both Billy and I feeling frazzled and inadequate. So--- in an attempt to regroup, I am taking the kids to my parent's and staying there until Billy has finished staining/polyurethaning the kitchen floor. It may be one night, two nights, three? Everything always takes longer than we expect it to, but hopefully without me and the kids there to distract luck will pour down and progress will be made. So, for all of you that are dying for the "after" kitchen photos, I will get them to you soon! If you want to see them, can you imagine how much I do too???

The comment Billy made about the potatoes on the couch was so classic. Before I even read it I knew he'd say something like that! He's so funny!!!
I was gonna ask what time we're doing Liam's birthday thing Saturday, but it sounds like I'll probably see you up the hill sometime this week?
What a fun blog! Your house is really looking great- I know you might not agree, but it is coming along! What a fun family you have!
My house is in a near-constant state of chaos right now also. At the moment it's actually pretty clean, so it would be an ideal time to have the baby (AHEM to my belly) before the house can implode again. As it surely will within a day or two.
I'm so glad your kitchen is almost done! What a relief it will be!
I love the pictures of Isla and the popsicle. I really think that with the second child, all worries about giving your child sugar before the age of one go out the window.
