Happy Birthday Meemum

Three years ago right now Liam was 23 hours old and the reason for a monumental rendering of my new mother's heart. Nothing has been the same since. He is my son, and for that alone I love him forever. But his lovable attributes strike me to my core every day, and I know he just has to be the coolest brand-new three year old ever.

I am his Mom, I know, but really, he is freaking hilarious and determined and perceptive--And as a woman I just love those traits in a male. He must get them from his dad. Anyways . . .

He wanted a firetruck birthday cake. He decided this two months ago on Billy's birthday and hasn't changed his mine since. See--he makes up his mind and sticks to it (I actually think he gets this from me too). And then he asked for hot dogs, fruit, orange chips, and red meat. We went with the first three items for the menu, but replaced the "red meat" with a ceasar salad. By red meat I think he meant a pot roast or steak? Not sure. He also wanted the party to be at Grandma Ooosen's playground, however, Oregon craptacular April rain sent us indoors. All the sweet Snyders, and my parents and nearby siblings came. And of course Melida's cute kids, Pedro, Paige, and Elijah. On the way there Liam asked "Will Pedro eat my birthday cake?" instead of the more commonly asked question "Will Pedro be there?". Liam loves his cousins.

Maybe next year Liam will pronounce the "L" in his name and "meemum" will go the way diapers and milk bottles? I am afraid so.

And now I am going to go cry.

Apparently Liam doesn't know how to blow air? Billy had to step in and help out.

The birthday boy's little sister posing for the camera. By the way, today she said "kitty" for the first time! It sounds like "Keh-tee"

The beloved cousins. It is important to note that Liam also asked if Aerlind would be there. She may be too far away for a birthday visit, but Liam is an optimist.

Oh, man, Becca, can you believe our babies are already three? That's so precious he wanted a fire truck cake. I'm sure if I gave Dottie the option she would specify "Disney Princess." Tell Liam Dottie said happy birthday.
