Happy 4 Months!

Dearest Isla,

Today you are four months old. You are no longer a newborn. I look at you and feel an electric breeze of joy rush over my mind, heart, and frazzled soul. You are my growing sack of fat, solid in my arms and squishy on my lap. Your thighs have six dimpled rolls and your hair has turned from dark to light brown. It is soft and wispy, but long and curly in humidity. Your Daddy is teaching you how to roll over, and it looks as if you might skip this developmental step and crawl first. In the nighttime you sleep between your father and I, snug and warm and oh so cuddly. Your brother Liam loves you with ferocious intensity. He likes to cuddle you, hold you, and when you cry in the car he says "No Isla, be happy." You are happy most of the time, smile easily, and I can make you laugh more than anyone else. Isla Quinn Snyder, you are my daughter and I love you. Happy 4 months.
