Right off the Billy Tree

September is National Sewing Month.

Not many people know this and the only reason I do is because I saw it on Martha.

Anyhow, our first sewing project this month was a "tool purse" of sorts. Billy found a beautiful industrial sewing machine at an estate sale and decided to give the machine a test run by making this "tool holder" he saw in Fine Home Building. I personally think it is really cute that Billy knows how to sew and even enjoys it a little.

(Interesting side note: the last name Snyder in German is "tailor")

After Billy finished this item that I cannot seem to accurately name, he filled it with some wrenches and placed it near the kitchen project.

Our dear sweet Liam did not waste any time. Within a few minutes he absconded with the "pouch" and delicately admired the tools inside. He promptly gathered a few of his own and added them to the collection. Note the yellow/red drill and gray hammer below. This is how we found it in the laundry room after he lost interest and moved on to other things.

Number #905,874 why I love raising a boy.
