Seen here is a display box Billy made in high school. It is hanging in our living room with nothing to display. It has become a personality barometer of sorts. When people come to our home and quizzically ask "what is your box...?" I like to return the question with "I don't know, what do you see in the box?" No one really gets the joke.
So, what should I put in the darn thing? It is about 2' by 1' and about 6" deep. We've thought about displaying an ostrich egg Billy purchased on his mission to Australia. Do you have any other ideas? I am open to anything: funky, unique, modern, traditional-- give me your imput PLEASE.
Thanks!

Well first of all, it's gorgeous just like everything that husband of yours makes! I would say, display something that has sentimental value to you guys. You could put it in Isla's room and display her blessing dress in there? I don't know, don't people do that? I think anything you put in there would be cool! Sorry I'm really no help at all! Best of luck! but do post a picture once you do get something in there.
Nobody gets that? Huh. Because I think that's funny and would really run with it...close my eyes..."I see macaroni and cheese inside!"
Anyway, the egg would be cool but too low I think, leaving half the box empty. Maybe a rotating display of Liam's artwork?
Well nothing gets me out of my box like a decorating challenge. Let's see here... a seasonal collage. Great Aunt Ardyth was a master at such things. Certain kinds of memorabilia that have to do with family. For example, for fall: Bill's old notebook from elementary, a picture of Pearl Marie in the fall, Eric's discarded U of O ticket stubs, leaves from a certain tree, you get the picture. All of this of course would somehow have to be propped up. Plus you could use the objects as teaching tools during FHE. Or there is always Richard's advice: "I know - they could put their wedding wine glasses in there, with their picture in the background and some dry rose petals." Ignore the latter.
Oh no wait, arrowheads, every Olsen needs a display box of arrowheads. Original, real original.
