"Oh Crap, That's ME"

That's what I thought while reading my sister-in-law's last post on her blog "Shannon and Ross". One of her pet peeves is people who post infrequently on their blog and I have a sneaking suspicion I might fall into that category every now and then. So, in an attempt to stir up some blog fodder I grabbed my camera and took a few photos of the new baby's room.

This pregnancy has been so different than how it was with Liam, the biggest difference being my state of mind. When I was pregnant with Liam my thoughts were inundated with the pregnancy, baby, labor, etc. This time around I feel so much more relaxed and at peace with everything. Which is a good thing. I think. But I also think that when this sweet little girl arrives I might be in for a huge, gigantic I need to hyperventilate into a narcotic-laced paper bag panic attack. I just don't feel as mentally prepared for her as I did with Liam. What will life be like with a newborn AND Liam? If I lose my sacred quiet time while Liam naps, or more correctly, WHEN I lose it, will I be able to maintain some semblance of sanity? I love this 80% chance little girl growing inside of me. There is no doubt of that. I just know life will be altered in thousands of unforeseeable ways and that, well, doesn't sit well with me. The point of this tangent is to say I sewed this crib set and organized the changing table in hopes of furthering my mental preparedness. If I see her room, and actively intercept Liam from destroying her room, every day maybe a part of me won't think "How did this happen? I was pregnant?" the day or night she fully comes into our lives.

The black and white (with a hint of pink) crib. The crib skirt is black with white little butterflies. The sheet is black and white checkers. And you can see the bumper.

Becca, even thousands of miles away I can't help but wish I was as talented, creative, etc as you! Seriously, that crib set could be from a magazine. Also, you will do great. During your visit, I thought to myself time and again, "she was meant to be a mommy." I can wait to meet "****".
