The Willamette Valley (pronounced Will-am-it) this past weekend hit record highs at about 105 degrees. Not exactly the Death Valley, but when I had back sweat by 9 Saturday morning it certainly felt like it. In an attempt to escape the sticky, energy sapping heat, we packed our bags and went to the beach. Once we left the Van Duzer corridor and coasted down Hwy 101, 66 degrees registered on the thermometer and life was good.
F.Y.I. While there my mom, my Aunt LaGene, Melida, and I went and saw The Lady in the Water by M. Night Schmaylan. Folks, I highly recommend this film if you are in the mood for a creative adult fairy tale (and by adult I mean Grimms brothers, not XXX you pervs).
