I apologize for the absence . . .

Swinging high and loving it!

Swinging, etc.

Carefully studying her every move

. . . and pictures will be your recompense.

A couple of weeks ago the Snyder family braved air travel once again. It was Billy's grandfather's 80th birthday and his entire progeny gathered in Palm Springs to surprise him (or give him a heart attack, I couldn't quite figure out which one). After a brief, but enjoyable visit, we drove west to visit Kaisa and her family in Los Angeles. This is where these pictures were taken.

Highlights:

  1. My brilliant sister fixing my brilliant (as in brassy and orange-hued) hair post-home dyeing accident. I am currently sporting my old, tried-and-true blonde hair. Awww. Sigh of relief.
  2. Billy volunteering to single-handedly tour The Living Desert (aka zoo) with Liam and other Snyderfials while I stayed back at the pool to read, solve two Suduko puzzles, listen to my iPod and yes, paint my toe AND fingernails bright pink. Now that is one heck of a birthday present if you ask me.
  3. Turning 24 years old. Now don’t look at me like I’m too young to have a child. Our ancestors birthed complete litters by the time they were my age. I’m just doing what feels natural.
  4. Touring Paramount studios with my brother-in-law Matt. Yeah, that's right. I am related to the Executive Assistant to the President of Productions at Paramount, or more importantly, to a man who has regular contact to celebrities, as in his wife (Kaisa) has an iPod from Tom Cruise, as in he gave Billy a bunch of Paramount produced DVDs, and yes, as in I am such a desperate nerd I become titillated just walking through a deserted Paramount set on a quiet Saturday afternoon.
  5. And of course, spending time with my rambunctious nieces Katia and Aerlind. Liam came home with a few tricks he picked up from his older, more sophisticated cousins, such as: chewing gum, refusing to crawl down the stairs (he must walk down holding onto the rails), practicing new vowels previously unfamiliar to his unpracticed mouth, and sitting in a forward-facing car seat.
  6. There is much more to report, but as always, I am up late and need to sleep before the dozing monster wakes for his nightly nursing barrage. Oh such is life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I am the worst friend in the world... I have to be reminded of people's birthday's by reading their blogs :). Hey, but I am an extremely faithful Liam's Lair checker which has to count for something! I love the pictures, oh how my little Liam has grown (or Becito, which I have recently started calling him. It is my nerdy pun... besito means little kiss, and Beccito means a little, male Becca, so by omitting the second c, it becomes both little becca and little kiss. Wow, I think I may have just become a bigger dork that you Rebecca). To answer your question, I don't know when we will come home. My contract is up in December; at that point I can renew it for an additional school year, or terminate it. Right now I am loving the immigrant life! I wish that our country would be as hospitable to our immigrants as Argentina has been to me.

Three cheers for little boy Liam! What a cute bug! I'm so happy to hear from you Becca. Sounds like you had lots of fun while you were on hiatus from your blog so I guess I can forgive you for the slow update. Looks like we might be seeing you guys sooner than later...still got an extra bed?

Hey Becca, I am always checking your blog to get updated pics of the cute babe! What doll and he is growing up so fast! Oh boy...you are 24! Happy Birthday late. I just turned 25 so your are still young and definately not too young to have a little one. I think that it is fabulous. Sounds like you had a fun trip in California! Jealous! I love to travel anywhere. We are off the Colorado on the 14th to visit Mark's parents...for the weekend. That should be fun. We are also building a house...it won't be done for a year...but that's ok cause we don't mind living where we are. That's all that is new with us...Write me an email when you get a free minute out of your busy life! Talk to later.

Where did liam's neck go? Oh wait, he doesn't have one, I forgot. Did he not get a neck from me or you? He is a cute boy, but sometimes he looks like a man baby. Loved the blog - it was interesting to read and I was even there the whole time. If I had written it, it would have just been a bog, or maybe a blo, or a log -- but only you could make it a blog and a really good one at that. See what I mean, I should have stopped typing 8 lines back. I will stop now. Is snyderphilia legal? if not, I'm GUILTY AS CHARGED! Love you.

When is the big run? I am excited to hear all about it. Also, isn't Liam is hitting the big 1 year mark in a few weeks? I can't believe that it has almost been a year, time flys!
