Happy Birthday Liam

Liam had his first hair cut tonight. While I nursed Liam in the tub, Billy clipped his curls and called it good. I cried for the little man he is becoming. He no longer looks like a baby, but an undersized toddler who bravely teeters about the house. The other day I was sitting on the toilet, enjoying a good you-know-what, when I felt a sharp stab of pain down in the nether regions. Some where between Star Tracks and the latest TomKat gossip, Liam had crawled up behind the toilet and had attempted to take a chunk out of his mother's rear. That's right ladies, Liam skips the pinching and goes straight for the S&M foreplay. Yikes.

But I digress . . . on this day of celebration, I cannot help but reflect on all that has taken place these past twelve months. Liam has grown three times his birth weight, while learning to crawl, and then walk. He has learned how to call out for his "Momma" in the night, and beg for his "DaDa" to look at
his newest trick. He has developed many friends, no foes, and has taken to clapping and singing loudly during church. I smile at my little man often, amazed at how good and sweet he is. I just really hope, and pray, pray, pray, that Billy and I can be good enough to raise him to be all things strong and valiant.
